Happened to watch the "Inclusive Growth Discussion" yesterday on CNBC TV18. The Discussion had panel members from industry and academia including GRK Reddy, Managing Director - MARG, Dr. Bala V Balachandran, Dean - Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai, Jamshyd Godrej - Godrej Group.
The discussion was focussed on how to include the "majority" indians in growth that India has seen over past yrs and what all steps should India Inc. take to carry the masses alongside. The Discussion was moderated by Harsha Subramanian, Deputy Editor - CNBC TV18.
The discussion was nicely carried out and i really liked some of the points like bringing out a mass movement on a national level which is only possible if our so called growing organizations take some funds out of their kitty and make sure that they participate in a constructive way. Dr. Bala was also of the view that such a mindset needs to be developed from the school/college level and hence the movement has to be on a national scale.
The discussion focussed on an important issue and it would be great if we have some more similar discussions and more importantly if some action items are brought out and implemented after such forums.
